Event Details

The Torpedo7 Spring Challenge North will be held for the first time in 2016. It is the sister event to the hugely successful Spring Challenge (now Spring Challenge South), which began in 2007. The South Island event has grown steadily since it's inception and in 2015 it had a record field of 420-teams. The Event Director is Nathan Fa'avae, New Zealand's most acclaimed adventure racer and 3 x World Champion. Together with his wife Jodie, they wanted to provide more women the opportunity to experience Adventure Racing. The event caters for teams of three women who travel together through the course. The disciplines are rafting, mountain biking and hiking, with a navigation component. The event caters for absolute beginners to elite, with a 3-hour, 6-hour and 9-hour option. These are projected winning times so teams can take up to double that of the fastest teams, in the respective categories. See the website for more details.
