Great food, wine and landscape combine at the Mills Reef Winery and Restaurant, set among 20 acres of rolling fields.
The winery produces a variety of wines including Syrah, Bordeaux reds and barrel-aged whites, which can all be tried in the tasting room at the Mills Reef Winery and Restaurant—a major attraction in the Tauranga area.
To complement the fine selection of wines, Mills Reef Winery operates a restaurant in an attractive, art deco building set among carefully landscaped grounds. With capacity for 150 guests, the restaurant extends onto a sunny patio where guests can enjoy the sun as well as the rural landscape.
The menu is decidedly New Zealand, with a focus on local produce, Pacific Rim flavours and Antipodean cooking styles. Servers can recommend a perfect wine pairing for any dish—be sure to ask.
Tasting room: 10am to 5pm, seven days a week.
Lunch: 10:30am to 3pm, seven days a week. Brunch: 10am to 11:30am, Saturday and Sunday. Dinner: from 5pm, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (reservations essential).
