Description
Your tour starts with pickup in a modern minibus equipped with Wi-Fi and charging ports. Travel through the Waikato countryside, passing scenic farmland and various livestock.
Arrive at the Alexander Family Sheep Farm and Shire's Rest, the entrance to Hobbiton. Here you can purchase refreshments before boarding a green Hobbiton bus for a fully guided 2.5-hour tour of the 12-acre movie set. Visit 44 hobbit holes, gardens, and hear behind-the-scenes stories from the films. The tour concludes with a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn.
After Hobbiton, return briefly to the sheep farm and continue to Rotorua, travelling through Tirau, known for its corrugated iron sculptures, and the Fitzgerald Glade. In Rotorua, visit Te Puia Geothermal Park for a guided tour of Māori cultural sites, geothermal craters, and the Pōhutu Geyser. You may also see a kiwi bird in the viewing house.
Return to Auckland by minibus with your guide.
