Meet your driver at 9:50 am at the iSite Rotorua Visitor Information Centre for a 20-minute shuttle to Hell’s Gate Geothermal Park. Upon arrival, explore boiling hot pools, bubbling mud, and steaming fumaroles on a guided geothermal walk starting at 10:30 am.
During the walk, see the largest hot waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere and learn about the Māori legends and historical uses of this geothermal area. Spend around 45 minutes discovering mud volcanoes, sulphur lakes, and steaming craters.
After the walk, enjoy a 20-minute therapeutic mud bath known for softening skin and detoxifying the body. Rinse off before relaxing in the sulphur spa pools, which help relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.
Optionally, have lunch at Hell’s Gate Café with a variety of snacks and light meals before taking the 1:30 pm shuttle back to Rotorua, completing a refreshing and revitalizing geothermal experience.
