Description

You will be picked up from your Rotorua accommodation between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. The tour begins with a scenic, commentary-driven drive to Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland for a one-hour guided walk. Here you will see colorful hot springs, boiling mud pools, volcanic landscapes, and the Lady Knox Geyser eruption at 10:15 AM.

Next, visit Waimangu Volcanic Valley for a one-hour guided walk focused on the 1886 Mt Tarawera eruption. A lunch break is scheduled at 12:00 PM at the Waimangu Volcanic Valley Cafe.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Te Puia, Rotorua's principal cultural institution. Learn about Maori culture through visits to the woodcarving school, arts and crafts gallery, Rotowhio Marae, weaving display, kiwi house, and the Pohutu Geyser.
