Experience a therapeutic mud bath and sulfur spa at Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve, located a 15-minute drive from central Rotorua. A round-trip shuttle service from Rotorua is available.
Apply natural geothermal mud to your skin and relax in warm sulfurous waters for 20 minutes, as the local Māori have done for over 800 years. After the mud bath, take a cool shower followed by soaking in the hot sulfur mineral spa.
The warm geothermal mud opens and cleans skin pores, while the sulfur spa gently exfoliates and deeply cleanses.

- The mud bath has a 20-minute daily time limit for health and safety reasons

- Swimwear and towels will retain a sulfur smell after use and require thorough cleaning
- Changing rooms, showers, and disabled facilities are available on site
