Description
Start by driving to the Rotorua Rafting base, just 20 minutes from Rotorua city center. Upon arrival, meet your guide who will outfit you with a wetsuit to keep you warm throughout the day. Instruction prior to departure ensures you are confident, with no prior rafting experience necessary. Non-swimmers are welcome and supported.
In summer, the river temperature is a warm 25°C, the highest in New Zealand. Shortly after gearing up, you cross the road to the river where you will tackle 14 rapids and 3 waterfalls. Highlights include swimming, jumping, surfing, and descending the tallest waterfall commercially rafted.
After approximately one hour of river action, the trip concludes back at base where you can change and view photos taken during your adventure.

Important Information
- Children aged 10-12 will raft the river below the grade 5 waterfall, walking with the photographer to the halfway point before joining the raft

Bookings are recommended in advance. Bring swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes. The best time to raft is during the warmer months when river temperature is ideal.
