Description
Enjoy a once in a lifetime scenic helicopter experience from Rotorua City Centre. Begin your tour from the lake front before you fly up to the site of the largest eruption in New Zealand’s living memory. Landing on Mount Tarawera offers a privileged view of spectacular craters and domes formed by the 1886 eruption.
Once landed you will have the chance to embark on a guided walking tour on the mountain and enjoy an interesting commentary based on the region’s history, culture and geology.

Tour duration, flight times and inclusions may vary due to weather conditions, volcanic activity and passenger loadings. Excursion landings are undertaken at your own risk and such landings are at your pilot’s sole discretion. As per New Zealand law, the local operator requires individual weights at the time of booking. If an individual passenger weight exceeds 110kgs a surcharge may apply. Any passenger exceeding 135kgs will be required to pay two adult fares.
