Green Lake

Lake Rotokakahi also called the 'Green Lake' is 440 hectares in size. The deepest point is 32 metres.
Privately owned by local iwi (Maori), this lake is sacred. No swiming, boating or fishing is permited. It was formed approximately 13,300 years ago.

The lake is emerald green from above due to a shallow, sandy bottom.
