Lake Rotoatua

Formed over 3500 years ago, Lake Rotoatua is part of the Ngahopua Track, otherwise known as 'Twin Lakes' track with a second lake 'Lake Rotongata' also featuing along the trail.
As the larger of the two lakes on the track, this green coloured crater lake is surrounded by forest ferns and features small white sandy beach areas.

A viewing platform 100 metres above the lake allows visitors to enjoy the serene beuaty of the lake. The loop track takes approximately 50 minutes to complete.
