Lucy Playne, owner of Horse Trekking Lake Okareka, has been riding for over 40 years.
Riding in the beautiful lake district of Rotorua, Lucy loves meeting people and showing them a little piece of paradise with spectacular views over some of the lakes in the Rotorua region. She is passionate about horses and loves being around them every day.
Lucy holds a BHSAI, British Horse Society Assistant Instructors Certificate obtained while working at Crabbet Park Equitation Centre in Crawley, England.
Treks available everyday at 10.00am and 1.30pm.
Native Bush Trek
Trek through dense native bush riding out onto green pasture with views over Lake Rotorua, Lake Okareka, Lake Tarawera, and Mount Tarawera. Ride across sheep and cattle country then down the main track back to the barn.
Knoll Trek
Trek up through the middle of the farm with Lake Tarawera and the mountain right in front of you.
Tarawera Trek
Trek up through the bush to the top of the farm with spectacular views of Lake Tarawera and the mountain, riding through productive sheep and beef producing farmland.
Nervous Beginners Lead Rein Ride
Ride down the drive to the stream and see fabulous views of Lake Okareka before heading back to the barn
Lake Okareka Trek
This trek takes you up the main track across farmland to the Lake Okareka shore before meandering back through the paddocks to the yard.
