Mamaku Blue Café
Enjoy exclusive homemade treats when you visit the Blueberry Café. Why not spoil yourself with the specialty venison and blueberry pie, blueberry muffin, blueberry dessert pie, pancakes, crepes and blueberry ice cream sundaes - all packed with blueberries. Sample the delicious blueberry jam on a piece of toast with a blueberry tea. The café also offers gooseberry pies and gooseberry muffins with cream cheese made with traditional English green gooseberries.
There is no need to hurry. Relax and enjoy the view from the Blueberry café’s patio, soak up the rural atmosphere, watch the donkeys and any sheep or cattle that may be grazing nearby. Perhaps enjoy a blueberry or gooseberry real fruit ice cream.
Mamaku Blue Store
The store has an extensive range of blueberry and gooseberry products, including jams, chutneys, chillis, wine and liqueur. Tastings of many of these are available. There are also blueberry and gooseberry health powders, sweets and dog treats.
Mamaku Blue Tour
You will be met on arrival by friendly staff and then be taken in an ‘air-conditioned’ people carrier to the orchard area for a 60- 90 minute tour. Visitors will see the blueberry orchard as well as the sorting and juicing sheds where the ‘magic’ happens.
On the tour, you will be told the story of Mamaku Blue’s development and the steps involved in getting the berries from the bushes to market. There is also the option of a guided walking tour.
On your return, enjoy time browsing in retail shop and see Mamaku Blue’s extensive range of blueberry and gooseberry products. There will be complimentary tastings of their juice, wine, liqueur and preserves available.
