Mac's Steaks are also famous for their jus (sauce) , with many customers requesting the recipe, or jugs of the stuff to take home with them. All steaks are fresh, there is nothing frozen, and each one is cooked exactly to order and dressed like a work of art.
The combinations are endless, from T-Bone, Sirloin, Rib Eye, Fillet and Rump steaks, to Pork Belly, Rack of NZ Lamb, Salmon Steaks and Marinated Chicken Breasts. There's even a Super Works challenge - 600g of sirloin steak, with fries, onions, mushrooms, eggs and salad, washed down with a litre of beer. Finish everything, and you get the beer free!
Mac's Steaks is a Rotorua institution, and is consistently busy. You've got to love meat to come here, but it's the little touches, too, that keep people coming back for more.
