Lake Rotongata

Lake Rotongata is found by walking along the two kilometre Ngahophua or, 'Twin Lakes Track'. The loop begins along Okataina Road, opposite the Outdoor Education Centre.
The small volcanic lake is also referred to as the 'Mirror Lake' and includes a viewing platform100 metres above, providing good views of the lake below. Carry on the trail to see the second 'twin lake' of Rotoatua. Both lakes were formed about 3,500 years ago.The loop trail takes about 50 minutes to complete.
