Polynesian Spa, New Zealand’s original geothermal bathing experience, offers therapeutic mineral bathing, wellness activities, and spa therapy treatments on the shores of Lake Rotorua. For more than 52 years, it has welcomed visitors from around the world and is consistently recognised as one of the region’s must-do experiences.
Water from two natural geothermal springs feeds 28 mineral pools across a range of bathing experiences. The sulphate-rich Priest Spring is renowned for helping soothe tired muscles and body aches, while the alkaline Rachel Spring is known for leaving skin feeling soft and nourished. Guests can choose from the family-friendly Deluxe Lake Spa, the adult-only Pavilion Pools, Family Pools, Private Pools, and a range of wellness experiences, many overlooking the spectacular Sulphur Bay Wildlife Reserve.
The Retreat Day Spa features 10 therapy rooms offering a range of treatments including relaxation massages, signature water jet Aix massages, body polishes, facials, and geothermal mud body wraps.
Wellness experiences include yoga, meditation, sound healing, art workshops, naturopath and talks and food workshops, walks and other activities designed to connect guests with the surrounding geothermal landscape and nearby Redwoods – Whakarewarewa Forest. Experiences can be tailored for both small and large groups, while wellness classes provide opportunities to incorporate mindfulness and relaxation into spa visits. Ideal for families, groups, conferences, couples and simple wedding ceremonies.
The onsite 88RA Café serves a range of fresh food and beverages, while the Spa Essentials Shop offers gifts, wellness products, and the signature Rachel skincare collection.
